New York is located nowhere near where the City or State of New York once was. The Hive City of New York was founded a few generations ago by the Marcus family. The Marcus family has substantial sway over the governing of New York because of their sizeable contributions to the community.
The Marcus brothers, Joshua and Jonathan do not take part in the government but are well respected in the community. Joshua is an ingenious mechanic. His inventions have made life within New York much easier for everyone. Joshua and Jonathan run a shop responsible for the vast majority of repairs and machine work in the community.
The Marcus brothers are half brothers, having different mothers. Joshua is the eldest by little less than a year. Jonathan’s mother cares for Joshua just as much as Jonathan. They are called by nickname, Josh and Jona respectively.
One of Josh’s primary defining characteristics is the absence of his legs below his knees. He lost his lower legs when a vehicle jack fell causing the equipment he was working on to crush his shins and feet. He has since created prosthetics that allow him good mobility with the assistance of a cane.
